I'm never ever going to walk out
of Boots with just my standard monthly toiletries. It's never going to
happen and I feel it's something that I finally accept, because I
actually convince myself every time that I'm not going to pick up stuff I
don't need... but what do I do? I walk out with two large bags full off
3 for 2s, buy 1 get 1 free and pretty much anything that's on offer!
Now going over to the self selection area is like you have just put me
in a room full of the fittest men in show business, I can't resist, I
have to touch and try everything (the chance would be a fine a thing
with one fit famous man let a lone a room full!!!) and I get so excited,
it's like I've never in my life seen makeup before! Anyway I'm skipping
the non exciting stuff because you don't really need to know that I
bought two boxes of Tampax on offer do you!
I picked up Max Factor Pan Stick in Nouveau £6.99
I've been using this for years and only use it on day's when I don't
wear my normal foundation. There's nothing fancy about this, it covers
well and is super quick to apply and it's staying power is OK, not great
but ok. I also bought some Champenys Emery Boards 3 pack £4.00
but not sure why as I only get my nails done at the nail salon but I
don't currently own any so thought why not?! I popped over to Collection
and bought Collection Eyebrow Definer in Blonde £2.79
I've yet to use this yet (actually forgot I brought it!) I'm on the
look out for the perfect Blonde eyebrow pencil which is proving to be
the hardest thing ever! Anyone can recommend a non waxy brow pencil that
is a little litter than a ash tone then please do! I will try this, who
knows it could be awesome!
Also from Collection I bought this gorgeous blusher Shimmer Shades Blusher in Blushalicious £4.19
I love blusher bricks as mixed together they normally make a gorgeous
colour, also with this each individual colour is big enough to swirl
your brush round and use just the one colour. The
first of the swatches is all four mixed together and it looks gorgeous.
They are super pigmented, although they are powdery, but you expect
that with cheaper makeup. I'm looking forward to using this and think it
will be a great blusher for in the summer and also if you're going away
as you have five colours in one! This is the first time I've ever
bought anything from Collection and I'm really impressed so far,
especially for the price!
Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow £8.99
Highlighting
brick palettes seem to be the 'in thing' right now, Bobbi Brown make
some gorgeous ones but they're a little on the pricey side so I thought
I'd try a cheaper version and seeing as Revlon are at the higher end of
Drugstore makeup I figured theirs would be good. I've actually not tried
this yet, I've only swatched it on my arm but it's not too powdery,
which I like and also it doesn't have chunky glitter in it like most
cheaper end make up tends to have. There are some glitter specks but it
doesn't look to OTT.
This
could totally double up as a blusher, especially in the Spring/Summer
as there are some lovely warmer tones here. The swatch really doesn't do
this any justice at all. Again this was another purchase with Summer in
mind! Am I getting ahead of myself here???!
Revlon
was on a 3 for 2 offer so of course I had to take advantage of it! I'm
really loving the lipsticks/gloss crayons that everyone seems to be
bringing out, band wagon anyone? I've heard great things about the Matte
Balms so had to try them out. I generally don't go for matte lips but
thought this wouldn't be too drying and look too flat...
I actually meant to pick up the Colour Burst Lacquer Balms instead of the Kissable Balm which were launched together, which are very glossy but clearly I can't read! They really should have different packaging! I've been wearing 'Elusive' quite a lot and really like it. I love the colour and it's not too drying and actually stayed put whilst eating my lunch. As for 'Honey' It's not one I would really wear alone, there isn't enough pigment to it and doesn't stay on my lips for long BUT what I have been doing is wearing it over the top of MAC Snob which I bought the other day and love the finished look!

Keeping
in theme with lips I have wanted a new coral lipstick for some time now
but one that was quite sheer with a nice glossy finish. I love
Maybellines packaging. It's a little sheerer than I would have liked and
haven't actually worn this on it's on yet BUT I have worn it over the
top of the Revlon Matt Balm above and it looks really nice!

Did
you know I have a serious eyeshadow addiction??? I'm also a HUGE lover
of purple eyeshadows and have been on the look out for some sparkly
purple eyeshadows for when I want to sparkle! I didn't actually realise
they were just new packaging for the older ones, although I think they
might be reformulated. I've yet to try this yet but look at the
swatches, they look gorgeous!

So
for starters I'm kind of obsessed with mascaras also and secondly who
on earth decided to give the Max Factor mascara such a long tongue
twisting name??? Anyway I have reviews coming up on both of these, one I
love and one I'm a bit like meh with!
I also bought a replacement L'Oreal Super Slim Liner and have a review coming on that this week!
So that's it for my drugstore haul and I got some real bargains! What drugstore makeup
have you bought this month?
Until next time
