Makeup | LOTD #1

I'm quite experimental with my makeup, especially when it comes to my eyes as they're generally what I try to make the main focus of my makeup look! So I thought I'd start a new series on my blog, posting my makeup look of the day! It won't be every day, it will more than likely be once a week, with maybe the odd post thrown in on my non scheduled posting days.

Firstly I started off with Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in Pale Almond. This is my holy grail foundation! I try others but always go back to this as I have an oily skin and it really does help keep my makeup put all day! I also use my fingers when applying foundation as I'm never happy with the finish I get with a brush, I swear I'm the only person!

I then used Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer (don't know the shade as it's worn off) under my eyes and brought it up on to my check bone. I patted the concealer into the skin and then used a Real techniques Deluxe Crease brush to ensure the concealer is fully blended in underneath my eye.

I always allow a few minutes to ensure my foundation and concealer has dried before applying MAC Studio Fix Powder in N5. I use a Real Techniques Powder Brush and dab the powder on to my skin, then run the big fluffy brush all over my face to ensure the powder is fully blended in.

I do a little bit of contouring using the MAC Mineralize Skin finish in Dark Deep using a Blank Canvas Cosmetics F16 brush. This brush is ideal as it's tapered so allows me to apply the bronzer to my contours as well as blended it in so I'm left with a very natural contour.

Then finally I used two blushers here, ELF blusher in Pink Passion then went over the top of it to add a slight sheen using Sleek blush in Rose gold using a Real Techniques blush brush

I then used a MAC 187 duo fibre brush all over the cheeks and face to ensure everything is blended in

I started off my eyes using NYX HD Eye shadow base all on the lid and up to my brow bone and gave that a minute to sink into the skin.

I used Wayne Goss 4 crease brush in the crease with NYX single eyeshadow in Charcoal and brought the colour up slightly. Using a Real Techniques Accent Brush I took NYX single eyeshadow in Greyish Brown and lined underneath my eyes and carried on bringing the shadow up towards the end of my brow (stop a quarter away from the brow) and then created a V shape on the outer corner of my eye and shaded it in (is this making sense?) I used this brush as it allows me to created a sharp line. I used a Wayne Goss 6 blending brush and blended everything in, ensuring no harsh lines were visable.

I went in with L'Oreal Perfect Slim Liner in Black and lined my top lashes and brought the liner out to create a cat eye flick.

I curled my eyelashes using No7 eyelash curlers and applied 2 coats of Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara in black.  Finally I used Sleeks Eyebrow Stylist in Light to colour my brows in,

And that's it! I didn't wear any lipstick due to my severe dry lips at the moment.

Oh please excuse my brows, they needed plucking! Lol.

Until next time
