A few weeks ago I was sent the whole Atomic Collection by Makeup Revolution. I wanted to try them all out for long enough before I wrote my review as to be honest I wasn't sure if I'd like these due to their boldness of colours! Be warned this is quite a photo heavy post!
Makeup Revolution are killing it with their constant launches, which I think is great as they are keeping people interested in the brand, which as a result they're fast becoming the must have drugstore makeup brand that everyone wants to buy from. It's also hard to believe that the brand are less than a year old and within that time they have made quite a name for themselves!
Anyway, one of their latest launches are the Atomic Lipstick Collection. Five seriously intense and bold lipsticks with colours ranging from a light shimmery lilac shade, to a bright red all the way up to a green colour, yes I said green! These lipsticks are clearly aimed at those who love to make a statement with their lip colour, who aren't afraid to not follow the crowd and also these are perfectly timed for Halloween, I mean when else are you planning on wearing a green lipstick?!
Like everything else from Makeup Revolution, these lipstick's are extremely inexpensive with each lipstick costing just £1, which I'm sure you don't need to get out a calculator to work out that the whole collection will cost you just £5!
This is actually my first time trying any of their lipsticks. I've heard mixed reviews on their lipsticks, from them not lasting long on your lips to the lids not staying place and always falling off. I'm pleased to say that my first impressions of these lipsticks is nothing but good, aside from my first reactions to the green shade of course! Of course the packaging isn't anything special, but they only cost £1 so I don't expect a MAC lipstick case, but the lids stay put, they don't fall off. I like that the colour is on the bottom of the lipstick so finding the shade you want is easy. Also the formula is lovely. they're ever so creamy and they apply so smoothly on my lips too. These aren't drying at all and the longevity is reasonable too, lasting around four hours, which is good for a non matte lipstick.
The five shades within the Atomic Collection are Serpent, which is the most daring colour out of the five. A deep green shade, ideal for Halloween. Magnificent is a beautiful lilac colour with pink undertones. Make It Right is a gorgeous deep plum, that is almost metallic like. Make Me Tonight is such a dark brown that can be built up to look almost black, this is again another lipstick ideal for Halloween. Finally there is my favourite, Ruby a beautiful classic bright red with a blue undertone. This is a colour I'll be reaching for on a night out as I do love to wear a bold red lip when I'm going 'out out'
I was so surprised with how pigmented these were, I thought I'd have to layer the colours up to get the shade to be the same as the bullet, but you really don't need to at all as they are all a true representation of the actual bullets.
These may not be the most wearable lipstick colousr around, and won't be colours I reach for frequently (excluding Ruby) but they are such fun colours to own, also I didn't own any lipsticks that would be ideal for fancy dress, well now I do!
If you're dressing up for Halloween then you still have time to order these as I think they will make a perfect addition to your outfit and finish the whole look off!
What do you think of the new Atomic Collection?
Until Next Time
