Party Season Smokey Eyeshadows | Drugstore

With the Christmas season fast approaching it means there will be a few Christmas parties to attend and a smokey eye look is a must have, well for me it is anyway. Creating a smokey eye doesn't have to cost you a fortune, so today I'm going to share a few of my favourite, inexpensive eyeshadows that you can just go out and buy in your lunch break from the drugstore!

  • L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quad, 'Velours Noir' - £7.99 L'Oreal is hands down one of my favourite drugstore brands around. The price range is reasonable yet the quality is amazing. We all know their products are very similar to Lancôme, in fact I own a few Lancôme eyeshadow palettes and the texture, finish and blend-ability is virtually the same as these Colour Riche Quad palettes, at a fraction of the price. I love the 'Velour Noir' palette. It comes with four eyeshadows all highly pigmented and they last on the eyes without creasing. The finish is mainly shimmers but there is a near matte black shade that is the key to turning this into a sultry smokey eye. Oh and did you know that the the way L'Oreal designed this palette was so that each size of the shades are the same size as your eye! This is something I've only just found out.
  • Bourjois Smoky Eyes EyeShadow Trio 'Gris Dandy' - £7.99 Bourjois are the highend of drugstore makeup. With them being the owners of Chanel, you can really see the similarities between both brands, obviously the big difference is the price, but the quality of these eyeshadows are not too dissimilar. One thing that stands out to me with the 'Gris Dandy' palette is the lack off fall out with the shadows and also how easy they are to work with. Again these are more on the shimmery side, but the darker shades can mute down the shimmers if need be. This palette really does create the most stunning smokey eye look and should be on everyone's wish list!
  • Rimmel HD 5 Pan Eyeshadow 'Golden Eye' - £6.99 The cheapest out of the three, but it's also the palette that comes with the most shades, five in total. What I love about the 'Golden Eye' palette is the gold shade that is in the middle. Sometimes when you're using darker shades you just want to add a little something to the look to really make the finish look pop, and the gold achieves that. Again this is another shimmery palette, can you tell I love shimmers?! but they really are beautiful shades that are again super easy to use. For £6.99 for 5 eyeshadows you really can't complain!

Obviously there are a lot of inexpensive smokey eye palettes on the market, in fact I probably own most of them! When looking through my makeup collection these three really stood out. Sometimes when you're working with darker shades they can be a little tricky to blend in, or create a lot of fall out, these three tick all the boxes for me and last on the eyes all night too. So if you're in the market for the perfect smokey eye palette then I really recommend picking up all  one of these.

Let me know in the comments what is your go to eyeshadows for the party season. I know I've been useless at replying to comments as of late, but I assure you I do read each and every one of them, it's just this time of year is beyond hectic and I don't have much time to sit down and reply to them, but I promise I do read them all so do let me know!

Until Next Time
