If you've ever tried matte eyeshadows you'll know how hard it is to find one that is good quality. It's well known that matte formulas are one of the hardest to nail. Either the pigmentation is not great, they can often be too chalky and trying to blend them in becomes extremely hard work. Makeup Revolution have already set the bar high with their great quality, inexpensive eyeshadows, which I own several of already. Having not been the owner of their first Essential Matte eyeshadow palette I couldn't wait to see if this would be as great as their other eyeshadows.

As you can see from the swatches this a neutral matte palette, with a great mix of skin tone colours to gorgeous chocolate browns. You could incorporate every colour here into any kind of look you're trying to achieve. Overall I think the colour selection is great, there are warm tones as well as cool tones, either tone would be great for an every day look too, no matter what your skin colouring is.
I tend to use the lighter skin tone shades on a daily basis, with every shadow that I use. Not only are they great bases for the lid, they also make blending in darker shades easier, Also they're great to add to the brow bone for a subtle highlight.
The quality of these eyeshadows are as good as the others that I own. They blend in easily, they're definitely not too chalky and they're also super pigmented. I was impressed with the darker shades the most, this is where most brands fail in regards to matte eyeshadows as there is little work needed when blending them in.
This is another hit from Makeup Revolution. This brand continues to amaze me every time, especially with the speed of new launches that are continuously filling up my Twitter feed! I would love to see a matte palette that is slightly smaller, one that you can carry around with you, you know one that is similar size to the Urban Decay Basic palettes.
If you're in the market for matte eyeshadows and have struggled to find good quality ones that don't cost a fortune then I can't recommend this enough, especially as the Makeup Revolution Essential Matte 2 Eyeshadow Palette only costs £4.. so what are you waiting for?!
I have a question, what would you like to see Makeup Revolution launch next?
