Well it would appear I've been living underneath a rock for months. I've been on the hunt for a dupe of my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz for ages now, then one day I decide to visit the Soap & Glory stand in Boots and there it was, shining like a beautiful ray of light.. the dupe I'd been looking for! Well it turns out I'm one of the last to find out about the Soap & Glory ARCHERY 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush ...
Now don't get me wrong, I love my Brow Wiz, review just HERE but it does cost £15.50, I do have to order it online, which sometimes it's out of stock due to it's popularity and also it means waiting on delivery, which to be honest, Beauty Bay are generally quite good, but with my holy grail products I like to be able to buy it in a shop and then I know I have them safe and sound. So to find a good dupe in the drugstore is a must for me.
As soon as I saw the Soap & Glory ARCHERY 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush I was taken back by just how similar these two products are. All you need to do is change the logos and writing and on first glance the two look exactly the same. The same shape, same tiny tip and same spooley, I'm quite surprised that Soap & Glory didn't get into trouble for having the exact same design!
I had the tiniest amount of Brow Wiz left but managed to drag out a little swatch for comparison, which is why it looks a little smudgy. Now the colour is virtually the same, however there is a slight difference which is noticeable in the picture. The brow Wiz in taupe definitely has a more ashy undertone, whereas the Soap & Glory has a more orange undertone, however on the brows there isn't a huge difference and the Soap & Glory doesn't give off that orange tone at all. Colour wise, the Brow Wiz is my favourite though.
Texture wise, again, there's not much between the two. I did find that the Soap & Glory was harder upon my first few uses, but after the tip has had a chance to wear down and soften the hardness is definitely gone, I never had this issue with my Brow Wiz. They both aren't particularly waxy, which is what I like, however they are soft enough to create a natural finish. If I was to pick my favourite texture wise, the Brow Wiz just about comes in tops.
The finish look and application for me is where there is a bigger difference, but I am being very picky here as really it's not that huge. I find that it takes me slightly longer to do my brows when using the Soap & Glory Archery, like I need to press slightly harder and can't go in as light handed as I do with the Brow Wiz, which results in a slightly darker brow, which I don't dislike at all and still creates a natural finish, again I said I'm being very picky here so that I can really explain the very small differences between the two. I feel like I'm going to go through the Soap & Glory Archery quicker than I did with the Brow Wiz.
I will add that the thing that lets the Soap & Glory Archery down is that there is only two shades, so people will struggle to find the best match, whereas the Brow Wiz has 12 shades available, so you're guaranteed to find a suitable colour.
Over all there isn't a huge difference, I've really had to pick the two apart to find differences, however if I could only ever use one brow product it still would be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz as I honestly find this to have the best colour, best application and natural finish. However the Soap & Glory ARCHERY 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush is an amazing dupe and at just £8, you really can't go wrong and I will be repurchasing this.
Have you tried either of these yet? What are you thoughts? If not what is your favourite brow product?
Until Next Time
