When Urban Decay launched the Naked palette so many brands jumped on the bandwagon and released their version of a naked palette, however theBalm NUDE 'tude Eyeshadow Palette to me has enough distinctive differences to stand out on it's own.
I've been after this palette for sometime now, however I was put off purchasing this thinking it would just be another neutral palette that will barely get used... yeah I was wrong, I love this! I love this even more because I didn't pay for it, instead I cashed in my Birchbox points and got this free (I'll go into Birchbox points further down)
This is my first time trying anything from theBalm and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. Packaging wise this comes in a slim cardboard packaging with a magnetic closure and includes a large mirror, so it's travel friendly. The design and layout is super sassy and really stands out, I really love the overall look and feel. Quality wise the eyeshadows are amazing, they have intense pigmentation, little fall out and are easy to blend in. The swatches above were achieved by just one swipe in each pan, yes they are really that pigmented, also the finish is pretty much the same on the lid when applied with a brush.
The colour selection is stunning. Yes it's a neutral palette but it includes a few shades that tend to be left out from a neutral palette. There's a few matte shades that are smooth and buttery, some gorgeous shimmer shades and a few shades that have a little bit more sparkle, however the glitter is not chunky at all. My favourite shades are 'Stubborn', 'Sexy', Silly', and 'Stand-offish' but pretty much all the shades excluding 'Snobby' and 'Seductive' are shades I would wear all the time. One other thing I love about this palette is the shade names. I didn't realise until I was adding the names to the swatches above that they all begin with a S, I don't know the reasoning behind that but I thought it was quite quirky!
Overall I think this palette is amazing, I highly recommend this for anyone who likes a natural eye look, all the way up to those who like to be a bit more dramatic. This could actually overtake my Stila In The Light palette as my favourite eyeshadow palette... it hasn't quite yet but the more I use this, the more I'm wowed by it!
Also quick edit: When you're subscribed to Birchbox you gain points for every box you receive, you also gain points when you refer someone else. These points can be spent within the Birchbox shop and the points really do add up quite quickly. This is the second eyeshadow palette I have bought with points in less than a year. If you'd like to subscribe to Birchbox then you can use my referral just HERE and gain £5 worth of points.
Have you tried this palette yet? What are your thoughts? Now I have fallen for the brand I really want to pick up the new palette, 'Nude Dude'
